2012 Cannondale Synapse Carbon 6

Cannondale's Synapse Carbon 6 lets you enjoy the easy rolling efficiency of a road bike with a slightly more upright riding position for ride-all-day comfort, too. The lively feel of Cannondale's lightweight, vibration-damping carbon frame and fork is a joy to experience and will make all your road rides even more fun. At your command are a host of quality components, including a crisp-shifting and braking FSA/SRAM Apex 20-speed parts group that features an extra-wide gear range so you can conquer any hill, and powerful dual-pivot braking for confidence and control on the descents. You'll also love the easy-rolling Shimano wheels and the quality bar, stem, seatpost and seat from Cannondale.

    Comments:

Bought this bike at the SF store. After testing a Madone 3.1, Roubaix Apex and a few other rides, I went with the Synapse for comfort, components and price. A lot of other store's sales reps (who didn't sell Cannondale) tried to steer me away based on the recent Cannondale Corporate transformation. Bottom line is that the bikes are still awesome, the components are great and the value is phenomenal! This bike climbs like a champ up Cardiac Hill and cruises nicely through the vineyards on the other side! I'd agree with other reviews that the seat isn't perfect, but that's an easy fix. Overall, very happy!

    Comments:

Over the past six month's this bike has been moving for over 20 miles at least five days a week. It was easy to adjust to and the shifing is still smooth. It has some creeks in the handle bars when going up hills. (thus the four stars) But, every 3 weeks some greece, to the joints, takes out the noise. I am enjoying this bike and have had no problems with the major components.

    Comments:

Love is a strong word to apply to a thing; but I love this bike. I upgraded from a 20 year old Gitane and am glad I went with the carbon model after testing both that and aluminum (the carbon is much more responsive). And yes, you'll see other reviews complain about the seat, and I did swap mine out, but otherwise perfect for the price.
